Falmouth - and The Lizard Peninsula

Falmouth has arguably the most beautiful natural setting of any town in Cornwall, but remains within an hours drive of all parts of the Duchy: including The Eden Project, St. Ives and St. Michael's Mount.

Located on the western banks of the beautiful Falmouth estuary, Falmouth is 'naturally' famous for its maritime heritage, and the new National Maritime Museum Cornwall.

Falmouth caters for a wide range of visitor interests from museums; indoor swimming at the Ships and Castles leisure pool - complete with fantastic wave machine; water sports of every description; listening to the variety of concerts regularly performed in the Princess Pavilion or just plain relaxing on the beautiful main sandy beaches close by.

Both the town centre and harbour are within easy walking distance and each provide plenty of interest and activity. We are ideally situated for ferries, fishing trips, scenic walks and the beautiful Gyllingvase, Maenporth and Swanpool beaches.

There is a water-skiing and windsurfing centre nearby, as well as indoor swimming pools, tennis, golf and of course sailing - since Carrick Roads and clear waters around Falmouth Bay offer some of the finest sailing and underwater diving in the country.

A short drive away you can visit the Lizard Peninsula; or visit tourist attractions such as Flambards theme park; Goonhilly Earth Station; Gweek Seal Sanctuary; and many more of interest. The surrounding areas offer some of the most beautiful gardens in Cornwall including Trebah; Trelissick; Glendurgan; and if going further afield, you will find The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
