The main part of the house is over 200
years old and is completely renovated with a
large modern extension, to a very high
standard. The use of traditional timber
frames and slate flooring creates a seamless
mix of the traditional charm of an old
building with all the convenience, light and
space of modern living.

Trevore Cottage was designed to be a
spacious family home, very easy to run with
all modern amenities and will comfortably
accommodate up to 6 adults or a family of 6
with a small child.

Room/Cloak Room. Snug/Reading Room with wood
burning stove. Master Bedroom with En-Suit.

Situated on the South of the Lands End
Peninsula the cottage is surrounded by
magnificent and far reaching views across
fields and moorland to the sea in the
distance. In the evening at sunset the wide
sky-scapes erupt with colour.

This is the perfect location from which
to explore all that West Penwith has to
offer: Penzance, St Ives,
St Michaels Mount, coast and moorland
footpaths and cycle trails,
Minack Theatre,
Newlyn Art Gallery and the
Tate Gallery St Ives, many sites of
historical interest, and the Merry Maidens
and Boscawen-un stone circles. We are
surrounded by fine sandy beaches, and the
famous surfing beaches of Sennen and Gwenver
and
The Beach Restaurant at Sennen are just
5 mins drive away.

Trevore Cottage at Rissick is the ideal
base for a West Cornwall holiday for both
families or couples sharing, it would also
make a perfect romantic getaway, or weekend
break for those looking for time away from
it all walking, cycling or bird watching.
All are welcome and we will work hard to
cater for all your needs: We provide luxury
cotton bed linen and towels and all oil and
electricity with fuel for the stove, there
is also use of TV and DVD player, Telephone
and Broadband. If you place an advanced
order we can also do your first basic shop
for you, so the essentials are waiting for
you when you arrive.
The accommodation provided at the cottage is to
the highest standard. The owner Sheelagh
ODonnell is an interior designer and curator and
she has used Trevore as her own home. Sheelagh
is known for her design work useing natural
materials and building techniques to
effortlessly combine the old and new together to
produce new thoughtful light and spacious,
contemporary living areas.
Downstairs guests will find a large Family
Kitchen with contemporary units and appliances,
hand finished with oak worktops and a beautiful
central island, French doors lead out to a
terrace and BBQ dining area, just the place for
breakfast and lunch.
A Utility/Laundry Room is just off the kitchen
with washing machine etc and a drying area over
the boiler.
On the ground floor there is also a
Shower/Cloakroom with power shower, the perfect
place to wash down after leaving the beach and
to store wet suits or muddy walking boots.
The Large Sitting Room has one glass wall with
sliding doors onto a cobbled terrace and
beautiful views out across the garden.
The main living room of the cottage is now the
Dining Room with 1940’s Aga, a warm place to sit
and chat over your meal on a cooler evening and
just off this room is the cosy Snug/Reading Room
where you can sit by the stove and study books
and maps of the West Penwith, play board games
or just chat.
Upstairs the large Master Bedroom has lovely far
reaching views to Chapel Carn Brae and beyond to
Sancreed, and a well designed, hand built fitted
contemporary En- Suite. There are two further
good sized Double Bedrooms with original paneled
walls and views across the garden to the sea in
the distance, and a large, hand fitted Family
Bathroom with power shower.
Outside the private landscaped Gardens are laid
out with enclosed lawns and secluded sun
terraces with areas for sitting, BBQ and dining.
There is also an unusual Gazebo created
specially for the cottage by a film set
designer.
Beyond the cottage garden the views of the
Peninsula stretch across the fields to the moors
and the ancient site of
Chapel Carn Brea, and facing south across
fields to the sea. At night the light from
Longships Lighthouse can be seen from the
bedroom window, and the clear night sky is
perfect for star gazing.
This is truly one of the most beautiful and
unspoilt areas of West Penwith, and is the
perfect base from which to start the rest of
your explorations. Many walks can begin
at the front door of the cottage: heading across
the fields to
Boscawen-un stone circle, or across the
moors to Chapel Carn Brea and the
Tinners Way beyond. For longer walks you can
join the Coastal Path at several vantage points.

In the winter you can spend your days walking in
the peace and quite of the West Penwith
landscape, and your evenings either by the cosy
wood burning stove or out celebrating as only
the Cornish know how.
Prices range from £415 in the Low Season to
£1,200 in the Peak Season.

Cottage and full balance settlement 2 weeks
prior to your arrival
