The Situation
Come and share our special home.

When we came here 26 years ago and the house was in very bad state of repair, we decided to make this our family home and restore this house because of its amazing atmosphere and beauty.

It is warm and inviting and once you are here you will find it very hard to leave.

Trevigue is found nestled on the rugged cliffs of North Cornwall. Wander through the ancient cobbled courtyard to the 16th Century farmhouse.

Flagstone slate floors and oak beamed ceilings greet you as does the smell and crackle of the log fires in the cooler months, perfect for relaxing and reading a good book.

You will receive a very warm welcome with a pot of tea or fresh coffee and a plate of mouth-watering homemade shortbread biscuits.

A sitting room, with a large slate open fireplace, has deep sofas and is packed with books.

A place to relax and unwind. The house has been exquisitely furnished by the family over the years and their love of fine paintings is clear. The three en-suite rooms are reached via a winding oak staircase.

All bedrooms are lovely and warm and cozy.

The Accommodation
The Grey Room
A very large double room with an oak beamed ceiling and an exceptional 5ft oak-carved bed! This adorable room looks out onto the cobbled courtyard ideal to watch the swallows in the summer (the real owners of Trevigue!).

The en-suite shower room leads off from the main bedroom. There is a colour television and coffee and tea making facilities.

The night sky’s are sometimes more spectacular than the day and on a moon-lit night or on a clear night with the sky lit up by stars this is a perfect room to lie and look! £36 per person (based on two sharing). Single Tariff £45 per night.

The Pink Room
A double room with a Stag double bed. This has an en-suite shower and is very light with windows at both sides. Tea and coffee making facilities. £34 per person (based on two sharing) Single Tariff £40 per night.

The Twin Room
A charming cozy twin room with an en-suite bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities. £30 per person (based on two sharing). Single Tariff: £40 per night.

Breakfast:

The full English breakfast cooked on the aga! is offered as is fresh fruit and yoghurts. The breakfast is delicious with local Cornish bacon and our own pork sausages from our traditionally reared Wessex Saddleback pigs.

Many people work up an appetite and wander past the tranquil Soay sheep grazing on the green over to the cliffs (a two minute walk) or stroll down to Strangles beach and skim pebbles in the sea. Keep your eyes peeled for the Moorland ponies (the cliff police!) and the wild Ferral goats.

If you are really lucky you may even spot seals and dolphins. Get up early enough and experience the sunrise over the valley, a spectacular sight to see.

Children over 12 are welcome. Sorry we do not accept pets.

Local attractions:

Trevigue farm has arguably the best location in Cornwall with abundant wild life, far reaching inland and coastal views and peace and quiet, part of which is rented from the National Trust. Down a meandering donkey path across the cliffs is the hauntingly beautiful and isolated Strangles beach

We also have a licence to hold civil weddings and naming ceremonies in the converted shippen across the ancient cobbled courtyard, a truly romantic location for that special day.

The very popular Trevigue restaurant is open at the weekends for you to sample the very best in local produce and produce from the farm (South Devon beef and Wessex Saddleback Pork both traditionally reared) and from Trevigue’s organic garden.

If you want to get out and see wildlife at close hand in their natural habitats ‘Francis Crocker’ the resident conservation expert will guide you.

Trevigue is ideally situated for Touring the local area, the fantastic family beach at Crackington Haven-ideal for rock-pooling, surfing, bathing, sunbathing, walking; and exploring Cornwall and Devon as a whole, i.e. the moors at Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin, the Eden project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Padstow and Rock to name a few.

Once you have found trevigue you will find it hard to leave. It will become part of you childrens precious memories and you will want to return year after year. Whatever time of year, Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn it is a magical place to come for a retreat to re-charge your batteries. In fact the locals far prefer North Cornwall in the Winter and the quieter months of June and September.
