Talamayne is a high quality bed and breakfast in
Helland, just off Bodmin Moor near Bodmin in Cornwall.
Situated in peaceful countryside adjoining the
Moor it is within easy reach of Bodmin (3.5 miles) and the main
A30 trunk road (2 miles). Talamayne is a small owner run bed and
breakfast dedicated to hospitality, your wellbeing and comfort.
Talamayne offers extremely comfortable rooms in
a home-from-home environment for discerning travellers to the
beautiful West Country.
Open all year and run by a highly experienced
hotel manager, the emphasis at Talamayne is one of high
standards of accommodation, breakfast and service. It offers
beautifully appointed rooms furnished in Sanderson and Laura
Ashley fabrics and furnishings, AGA cooked breakfasts, afternoon
teas with Cornish clotted cream, Egyptian cotton bed linen and
towels, ample off road and some secure parking and of course a
very warm welcome.

Bedrooms
Our beautifully appointed bedrooms, Lichfield and Salisbury are
named after cathedrals and were all tastefully refurbished in
January 2008.
Both are double bedded rooms, but Salisbury boasts a king sized
bed which can be made into two separate twin beds. Each bedroom
is equipped with a comfortable armchair, remote control
television with digi-box, cd/radio player, books, magazines,
tissues, fresh flowers, mineral water and a complimentary
hospitality tray offering cafetiere and fresh ground coffee, hot
chocolate, decaffeinated coffee, selection of teas and biscuits
and fresh milk. Our bedding and pillows are hypoallergenic and
are dressed with Egyptian cotton sheets and pillow cases.
Each has an en-suite bathroom with mains-fed
thermostatic shower and Egyptian cotton towels and bath sheets
which are changed daily. We offer quality, complimentary
toiletries, and bathrobes are provided for your use during your
stay.

overlooking moorland from 8am until 9.30am. |

The menu is to your requirements – whether you prefer a
full hearty West Country breakfast to stand you in good
stead for a day on Bodmin Moor or cycling the Camel
Trail. Our cooked offerings include our Aga cooked Full
English using all local, quality ingredients, or as an
alternative scrambled egg and smoked salmon on toasted
muffins, Eggs Benedict and fresh fish when available.
For something lighter you may choose a continental
meal of fresh fruits, cereals, home made jams and
preserves, and selection of teas.
If you require breakfast before 8am, a wide section of
continental foods will be made available. |

Afternoon Tea |

All our guests are offered afternoon tea on the first
day of arrival with our compliments. It comprises
freshly baked scones, homemade jams and preserves and of
course Cornish clotted cream and tea of your choice. |

Whilst we do not offer dinner to our guests there are a
number of pubs and eateries within a few minutes drive
and include
The Old Inn at St Breward, the highest and oldest
hostelry on the Moor, which has featured in the AA Pub
Guide for many years. |

From A30 North of Bodmin use right hand side of
carriageway after the turning for Cardinham Woods and
take the exit for Helland. Cross the carriageway and
follow signs for Helland into the village and we are the
second house on the right. From A30 South do not take
the Bodmin turn but carry on past and take the exit for
Helland. Follow signs for Helland into the village and
we are the second house on the right. |

Parking - Ample parking is
available, for all sizes of vehicle. Parking spaces are
covered by a security light and we can also offer some
secure parking and bike storage. |

Bed & Breakfast is open throughout the year. We close
December 16th to January 3rd annually.

Payment
We accept cash and cheques to the value of the
accompanying bankers card only.
Deposits are taken for all bookings at 50% of the
overall cost of the stay with the remainder being
payable upon departure.
Cancellations – In the event of a cancellation less than
48 hours before arrival payments received by us will be
kept unless the room has been re-let.
Restrictions
We have very few restrictions at Talamayne but it is our
family home and as such we do not accept animals no
matter how well behaved as we have our own pets.
Unfortunately we cannot accept children, and we do not
allow smoking anywhere on the property inside or out. |
