Bed & Breakfast at Spindrift:

Spindrift is a large modern house furnished and decorated to a high standard offering quality bed and breakfast accommodation in a relaxing atmosphere.
Situated in an elevated position overlooking the beautiful Pentewan Valley with views over the garden or across the valley to the woods.
On the main bus route from St Austell Rail and coach Station

The Accommodation Spindrift is in an elevated position with lovely countryside views; because of this access is via a steep drive on to a level gravel parking/turning area. There is a flight of 6 then 4 wide steps to the front entrance path which is quite narrow, followed by a further step into the entrance hall, which again is fairly narrow. Access is not possible for a wheelchair.
One bedroom is on the ground floor, this has 2 beds, one double and one single, there is an en-suite shower with a high step up, toilet and wash basin. The dining area for this room is adjacent to the bedroom on the ground floor. A second bedroom is on the first floor, reached by an open tread staircase, this also has one double and one single bed. The private bathroom for this bedroom is on the ground floor, again the dining room for this bedroom is on the ground floor also. The garden for Spindrift is to the side of the property after an initial flight of 6 steps. Access is not possible for a wheelchair to the garden or house.

Three rooms:

  • one with double bed, en-suite toilet and basin, private bathroom
  • one with double and single bed with a further private bathroom
  • one with a double and single bed with en-suite shower/toilet facilities

All are equipped with tea, coffee, biscuits etc, a colour television, clock radios, hairdryers, tourist information and select magazines .

Guests have access to rooms at all times 
A hearty Cornish breakfast is served in the dining area with special diets catered for.

Directions
From the M5 at Exeter make for Okehampton, Bodmin and then St Austell, take the B3273 towards Mevagissey, at London Apprentice look for the Telephone kiosk and lay-by on the left, the sign and drive for Spindrift are opposite. Go up the drive and park on the large gravel area.

Local attractions:

Spindrift is on the fringe of the small hamlet of London Apprentice between St Austell and Mevagissey.
It is just a short walk to a footpath which is part of the Cornish Way, this follows a small river down through the wooded Pentewan Valley to Pentewan village and beach. (approx. 2 miles, a lovely walk or cycle ride).
Good country restaurant just a short walk
Popular pub with excellent restaurant at nearby Polgooth
Pentewan village - cycle hire, good pub, long sandy beach.

Just a short drive
The picturesque fishing harbour of Mevagissey - fishing, boat trips, restaurants, pubs, craft shops, tea rooms and ferry to Fowey.
Further sandy beaches at Porthpean, Carlyon Bay, Gorran Haven.
Charlestown Harbour with its tall ships, restaurants and pubs . (2 miles)

St Austell town with swimming baths, good shopping, multi screen cinema, tennis, choice of golf courses.

Within 30 minutes
The cathedral city of Truro - Lovely cathedral, good shopping, popular boat trips down the river to Falmouth.
Fowey - many craft shops, boats, walks by the river, a very popular destination.
Bodmin - leading to the moor and Jamaica Inn.

Spindrift is well placed in the centre of Cornwall, virtually anywhere in the county can be reached within an hour.
