The Situation

Situated in an elevated position with lovely rural views. Furnished and equipped to a high standard. ETB, CTB and St Austell TIC Registered.  Close to Eden, Heligan and Charlestown.

The Accommodation at Gables

The Gables forms part of ‘Spindrift’ having its own private access.


The Gables is in an elevated position with lovely countryside views. Access is via a steep drive from the main road onto a level gravel parking/turning area. There is a flight of 6 wide steps up to the entrance door, a high step into a small entrance hall. On the ground floor the lounge/dining room, kitchen and bathroom are all on the level. An open tread staircase rises to the first floor to the bedroom which has one double and one single bed. The garden for 'The Gables' is at the rear and accessed via a flight of 10 narrow steps to a lawn with garden seats. Access is not possible for a wheelchair to the garden or internally.

Directions
From the M5 at Exeter make for Okehampton, Bodmin and then St Austell, take the B3273 towards Mevagissey, at London Apprentice look for the Telephone kiosk and lay-by on the left, the sign and drive for Spindrift are opposite. Go up the drive and park on the large gravel area.

Local attractions:

The Gables is on the fringe of the small hamlet of London Apprentice between St Austell and Mevagissey.
It is just a short walk to a footpath which is part of the Cornish Way, this follows a small river down through the wooded Pentewan Valley to Pentewan village and sandy beach. (approx. 2 miles, a lovely walk or cycle ride).

Popular pub with excellent restaurant at nearby Polgooth (1 mile)
Pentewan village - cycle hire, good pub, long sandy beach.

Just a short drive
The picturesque fishing harbour of Mevagissey - fishing, boat trips, restaurants, pubs, craft shops, tea rooms and ferry to Fowey.
Further sandy beaches at Porthpean, Carlyon Bay, Gorran Haven.
Charlestown Harbour with its tall ships, restaurants and pubs . (2 miles)
Lost Gardens of Heligan (4 miles)
The Eden Project (6 miles)
St Austell town with swimming baths, good shopping, multi screen cinema, tennis, choice of golf courses.

Within 30 minutes
The cathedral city of Truro - Lovely cathedral, good shopping, popular boat trips down the river to Falmouth.
Fowey - many craft shops, boats, walks by the river, a very popular destination.
Bodmin - leading to the moor and Jamaica Inn.

The Gables   is well placed in the centre of Cornwall, virtually anywhere in the county can be reached within an hour.
