Berrycombe
Hill is situated on the edge of Bodmin, a
historic market town located in the heart of
Cornwall, within easy reach of the county's
finest and most interesting visitor attractions,
lovely beaches, the Saints Way, Camel Trail and
access to Bodmin Moor, an area of outstanding
natural beauty.
Transport links to Bodmin are
excellent with regular train services to Bodmin
Parkway and fast road access via the A30 and A38
trunk roads. The National Express bus stops in
Bodmin.
The nearby Camel Trail which
links the towns of Bodmin, Wadebridge and
Padstow is without doubt one of the UK's most
successful recreational trails, constructed on
the bed of the former Bodmin to Padstow railway
line it provides an ideal surface for walkers
and cyclists.
This traffic free route provides
access to spectacular countryside taking in
secluded wooded valleys, varied wildlife, rivers
and the beautiful Camel Estuary a feeding ground
for many kinds of birds truly making it a
birdwatchers paradise. The Camel trail links up
with the Sustrans route number 3. This route
accesses the moors, Respryn Woods Lanhydrock
House, the clay country taking in the Eden
Project (who offer cyclists a discounted entry)
and many other wonderful destinations
Bodmin makes the perfect base
from which to explore the whole of Cornwall be
it by bike, foot or car.
Close to the accommodation is
Bodmin Jail which has featured on 'Britons most
Haunted'. An excellent museum and tourist
attraction which offers good food, fine wine,
real ale and a very warm welcome. Bike hire is
available here.
There is plenty to see and do in
the Bodmin area and plenty of good pubs and
restaurants close by.
