The
beautiful village church |
The Pheasant
Inn is the local village pub and is just within a short
walk. It served excellent food and a wide variety of
beers and spirits. |
Directions:
Travelling down the A30. You will by-pass Bodmin, Summercourt.
shortly after this you will see the A3058 signposted to St
Austell & Newquay. Continue on the A30 for a short distance and
you will see 'Mitchell' signposted off to the left. Take this
turning and follow this road to Newlyn East. In the centre of
the village you will see 'Station Road' of to your left. approx.
200 yards Rose Cottage (No. 17) is on your left.
Locally
Rose Cottage is situated down a quiet road just off the centre
of the picturesque little village of Newlyn East.
Just a few minutes walk:
A good village shop with just about everything you will need.
an excellent village butcher shop.
The Pheasant Inn. An extremely popular village pub which has an
excellent local reputation for providing good wholesome food at
a reasonable price. The beer is very good as well. For evening
meals to avoid disappointment it is advisable to book.
Within a 10
min drive:
Newquay - a major tourist resort with everything that you would
expect - excellent beaches, good shopping, variety of tea
rooms/takeaways/restaurants, pubs, clubs, zoo, water park. Gets
very busy in high season.
Beaches avoiding Newquay:
Holywell Bay, Perranporth, Crantock. All are excellent and
manned by lifeguards in season.
The main A30 - leading to all part of Cornwall.
Touring:
Cornwall is a beautiful but small country, most places can be
reached within an hour's drive. As a guide:
St Austell - Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Charlestown
Tall ships, Mevagissey. - 30 Mins
Truro city - Magnificent cathedral, best shopping in Cornwall,
excellent boat trips down the river to Falmouth - 30 mins
St Ives - 45 mins
Lands End - 1 hour 15 mins
Falmouth - 45 mins
Plymouth city - 1 hour |
