Welcome to Retorrick
Mill; we hope you have a pleasant and peaceful holiday with us.
Retorrick Mill is
situated in the beautiful Lanherne Valley between St Mawgan
Village and Mawgan Porth beach.
The beach has superb sand and rock pools, its just a few minutes
drive from the Mill or a pleasant walk along a public footpath.
The
accommodation consists of:
- Six
individual chalets (sleep 4/5)
- An Old
Mill Cottage (sleeps 4)
All
chalets are similarly equipped and provide:
- A lounge
- attractively furnished with suite, electric fire, easy
chairs and colour television. Large picture windows give
panoramic views of garden and hillside.
- Two
bedrooms
- Double
bed
- Full size
bunk bed and single bed or one/two single beds. All have
dressing table, built in wardrobe, reading lights and
electric convector heater.
- Bathroom
- Full size bath, W.C., shaver point and overhead electric
fire

Kitchen/diner - Modern electric cooker, refrigerator,
microwave, sink unit, airing cupboard, with immersion
heater, pantry. Attractive dining bar with stools.
- Each
chalet has its own garden complete with whirligig washing
line and is located some forty feet from the next; all
designed to give peaceful seclusion for your holiday.
General:
Inclusive facilities include duvets and pillows, comprehensive
inventory and colour television. You only need to bring linen
and towels. Linen can be arranged for the cottage only.
Barbecue available.
Laundry facilities are on site.

The
Old Mill Cottage
Originally the old grist mill, Mill cottage comprises of:

A lounge with
open fire place, electric fire, three piece suite and colour
television.

Two bedrooms -
One double bed - One twin room
Each has a dressing table, wardrobe and reading lights.

Airing cupboard
with immersion heater

Bathroom - full
size bath, with shower, WC., shaver point and overhead
electric fire.

Kitchen/dining
area - situated at the end of the lounge, fully equipped for
four persons with electric cooker, microwave, refrigerator,
stainless steel sink unit, fitted cupboards.

garden with garden furniture alongside a pleasant stream.

Directions:
At St Columb Major Roundabout take the Newquay road (A3059) and
follow signs to St Mawgan. Here continue past the church, over
small bridge and uphill to T-junction. Turn left in the
direction of Mawgan Porth. After half a mile take the first
small lane to right, signed 'Retorrick Mill'. Follow the lane to
Retorrick Mill. Alternatively, if at Mawgan Porth, take the St
Mawgan road inland for about a mile. This brings you to the
small lane on the left.

The nearest beach is at Mawgan Porth, which can be reached on
foot by turning right where our entrance road goes sharply left
as you go out.
This takes you over a footbridge and follow the path that leads
to the left over fairly level ground to Mawgan Porth.
The whole walk is about 1 mile and should take about half an
hour.
There is another large beach at Watergate Bay on the way to
Newquay, which can be reached by foot along the coastal footpath
starting at Mawgan Porth.
On the coast road to Padstow in the other direction is
Porthcothan and several other beaches. The National Trust has a
tea room and shop at Bedruthan Steps situated a couple of miles
from here, where you will also see some spectacular coastal
scenery.
There are supermarkets at Newquay, Padstow and Wadebridge.
St Mawgan village has a village stores/post office, good pub and
good food.
Mawgan Porth essential supplies, good pub with good food.
Newquay is about 5 miles away, numerous beaches including the
famous surfing beach at Fistral, Zoo, water park, night life.
Padstow is about 9 miles away, picturesque little town
overlooking the River camel estuary. (excellent speed boat
rides) |
