  nr Mevagissey, St Austell, Cornwall.

The Situation
Set on a 150 acre working farm in the heart of the peaceful Cornish countryside, these two delightful granite barn conversions enjoy sole use of a heated indoor swimming pool with jet stream. The owners are happy to arrange escorted visits for visitors to see calving and lambing in season. The cottages are ideally situated for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline, which are steeped in history. Many artists and writers have been inspired by the Cornish landscape. The picturesque harbour of Mevagissey is close by, whilst many of the local places such as Fowey, Par and Menabilly have been immortalised by the novelist Daphne du Maurier. Pentewan (3 miles) has a superb sandy beach, and bikes can be hired to cycle the Pentewan Trail. Heritage sites include the Lost Gardens of Heligan (2 miles), the new Eden Project (8 miles) and Lanhydrock House and its gardens (10 miles). Shop and pub 1½ miles.

How to find us:

From St Austell travel west on the A390 towards Truro. 1 Mile out of St Austell at the start of the Sticker by-pass, turn left on to the Sticker road (this is the old A390). Continue on the main road straight through the centre of Sticker village, up the hill the far side and take the first left, signposted to Lower Sticker and St Ewe. After 200 metres, at the cross roads, turn left again and then first right after 300 metres, signposted to SOS Saddlery. Follow this lane for 1 mile, pass the Saddlery, through Par moor Woods and up a short steep hill. You will find the entrance to Rescorla Farm Cottages straight ahead of you at the top of the hill.

Local attractions:

Rescorla Farm Cottages are ideally located for some of Cornwalls best attractions. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are just 2 miles away and world renowned Eden Project is just 15 minutes drive away!

The beautiful fishing port of Mevagissey is just a short drive away from where you can catch a ferry along the stunning coastline to Fowey. Alternatively fishing trips are available, and for the more adventurous there are shark angling trips!

The beaches and coves along the south coast are ideal for sailing, canoeing, water skiing and skin-diving and equally suitable for families with children with miles of golden sand and very safe for swimming. For surfers the North coast has superb beaches and is only 25 minutes away. And for the conservationist and walker this area of Cornwall is a perfect base.

The famous old port of Charlestown is home to a fleet of square rigged schooners (on which you can go for a sail), and the award winning Ship Wreck and Heritage Centre. Here you can also purchase delicious smoked salmon, prawns, oysters, and a host of unusual sea fare from the superb smoked fish factory in the centre of the town.
