The Plume of Feathers – Bed & breakfast
accommodation with restaurant & pub – is a beautiful countryside
location situated in the peaceful, leafy village of Mitchell,
Cornwall, within close driving distance of Newquay (including
Newquay Airport) and Truro.
Voted County Dining Pub of the Year in The Good Pub Guide 2004,
the extensive menu has something for all, where emphasis is on
best quality seasonal ingredients and attentive service.

But the The Plume of Feathers is more than just excellent food
and service. The old stables and barn have been superbly
converted to create 8 stylish rooms. All rooms

If it's a relaxing, comfortable and friendly atmosphere you're
after, look no further than
The Plume of Feathers, in Mitchell, Cornwall.
With it's roaring log fires, beamed ceilings and friendly, cosy
ambience.
It's hard to imagine that this characterful pub and restaurant
with rooms was once a run-down local.
The distinctive pillared entrance and Cornish cob walls are
reminiscent of the Plume's 16th century origins, where it would
have been a welcome stop for wary travellers on the main route
through Cornwall.
Now bypassed by the A30, it is a fine destination pub/restaurant
with five stylish rooms set in the peaceful, leafy village of
Mitchell.
THE RESTAURANT
Spill out into the adjoining garden area for lunch or a Cornish
cream tea, or enjoy candlelight and single blooms for a relaxed
but intimate atmosphere.
Our seasonal menu and specials board, which changes twice daily,
are a fusion of classical British with modern European dishes.
Our Head Chef Anthony Quinn and his team source only the finest ingredients with a definite emphasis
on local fresh fish and traceable properly-reared meat, along
with fine local fruit and vegetables from Mitchell's own fruit
farm.
We also carry a selection of fine Cornish cheeses served on a
slate saved from the renovated barns which now house our
bedrooms.

THE ACCOMMODATION
Hidden away behind the main building
the once dilapidated stable barns we have lovingly renovated to
house 8 stylish rooms off a courtyard and meandering garden
paths. King size wrought iron beds, beautiful bathrooms,
interesting artwork, shuttered windows and neutral decor are all
conductive to sound sleep.
The thought of waking to local organic free range eggs for
breakfast may drag you out of your extremely comfortable beds (so
we've been told by countless customers), where you'll half
expect to be woken by a cockerel at dawn.
