The Situation

Penvergate is a 15th century house and now a working organic farm. Although now modernised it retains much of its character with thick cob walls and beamed ceilings. It is set in extensive grounds with an orchard, small stream, garden and children's play area.
It is situated just a short drive from Gorran Haven and the fishing port of Mevagissey.

Directions
From St Austell take the Mevagissey road. After passing Pentewan Sands on the left, 1/2 mile to crossroads. Turn right towards Gorran Haven. Approximately 1 mile from Gorran, Caerhays is signposted to the right. Follow this road until almost to the beach. Penvergate is set back off the road on your right.

Caerhays Castle and Beach

Local attractions:

Just a five minute flat walk to the local beach. A quiet sandy cove with cafe and toilets. The beach is directly overlooked by the imposing Caerhays Castle, (gardens occasionally open to the public).

Beautiful cliff walks directly from the guest house.

Just a short drive to the picturesque cove of Gorran Haven and the popular fishing port of Mevagissey. Boat trips from the harbour and ferry to Fowey. (A good day out).
The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan only a short drive. Tickets for Eden available from the Guest House.
