Although we only moved here in January 07 we do however have 16 years of experience between us in looking after guests and it's something we thoroughly enjoy doing. Photos will be added as soon as the flowers start coming out in the garden and the house is exactly how we want it. En-suites have just been installed, the rooms decorated and new carpets laid. Wireless broadband is available in all rooms, so bring your lap top if you really can't manage without it! Twenty chickens arrived last week and have just started laying, not anywhere they're meant to of course but they look very happy and that's the main thing!

Tim who was a farmer for many years now wants to visit Liskeard Market and pick up a couple of ewes and lambs, I'm keener to acquire goats and have a go at making goat's cheese and I expect we'll end up doing it all in time.

My therapy room is almost how I want it and nicely separate to the house so peace and quiet will prevail with a bit of luck!

Read on and see what else we have to offer.......

Enjoy complementary therapies, delicious local food and relaxation in the peaceful Cornish countryside.

The Olive Tree aims to be a haven of peace and relaxation suitable for couples and friends. Enquiries are welcomed from people with disabilities or those on special diets, please phone to discuss your individual requirements.

A warm and friendly welcome awaits you from Tim and Elaine. We are a small establishment with only three guest bedrooms, ( two fully en-suite and one with a private bathroom, all situated on the ground floor with easy access from where you park your car) giving us the time and opportunity to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Most evenings we will be available to discuss your day, help you plan the following day using our local knowledge and Ordnance Survey maps, perhaps over a glass of wine? We can advise you from first hand experience of the best pubs and restaurants in the area - it's been hard work doing the research, but we've done it on your behalf! Alternatively take advantage of our gas or traditional barbecue in the garden.

Set in an acre of secluded gardens backing onto farmland, peacefully located between the rugged beauty of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, we are ideally located for exploring Devon and Cornwall, whether it be the prestigious Eden Project, seaside resorts and fishing villages such as Looe and Polperro, walking on the moors, exploring local cycle trails, visiting famous market towns such as Tavistock and Launceston, or even a day's shopping at Plymouth's new shopping mall.

The Olive Tree is suitable for guests who are without transport or prefer a "greener" holiday. There are abundant scenic walks in the immediate vicinity and we are a mile from bus routes which take you to Liskeard, Tavistock, Launceston and Plymouth. The Tamar Valley line, regarded as one of the most beautiful in the country has trains operating between Gunnislake (5 miles away) and Plymouth. This can be linked in with ferry transport on the Tamar river.

We offer a number of extra facilities to make your stay more relaxing and enjoyable, including therapeutic massage and reflexology - Elaine is a fully qualified practitioner with almost ten years experience, five as a volunteer in the local Cancer Support Centre, working on both patients and carers. If you are currently receiving treatment, you will made particularly welcome and we will do our best to accommodate any needs you may have and include a free session of massage or reflexology during your visit. If appropriate take a look at the Breast Cancer Haven site, a charity which runs day centres and retreats offering support, information and complementary therapies for anyone affected by breast cancer www.breastcancerhaven.org.uk
