Old House Bed and Breakfast offers you comfortable rooms and good food in a relaxed, atmospheric Georgian property. We aim to make you feel welcome in informal surroundings. Old House is situated near the centre of Launceston (just off the A30) and is a perfect base from which to explore Cornwall and Devon. Your choice is wide and varied; whether you choose to discover the rugged beauty of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, or visit one of the many pretty fishing villages or gorgeous beaches, you will not be disappointed. Keen gardeners will be spoilt for choice as there are many beautiful gardens to take your breath away. Launceston is the Ancient Capital of and acknowledged gateway to Cornwall and sits in an area of considerable beauty and charm with easy access to both North and South Coasts as well as to the cities of Exeter, Plymouth and Truro. Although we do not provide evening meals, Launceston has many places to eat, from Cajun, Indian and Italian through to English brasseries, pubs, cafés and traditional fish and chip shops, all of a high standard. As the property is a listed Georgian building, we regret we are unable to provide wheelchair access (please see our access statement). Our aim is to make your stay with us as relaxed and comfortable as possible - if you have any specific requirements please do not hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you. Our bedrooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard. Each room has a comfortable bed with 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen. Although the beds are dressed with quilts, blankets are available if you would prefer. The duvets and pillows are all non-allergenic. We supply soft white bath robes and big fluffy towels. Both rooms also have wall mounted Freeview TV’s with integrated DVD players. A selection of DVDs are available for loan free of charge. Tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and books are all provided. Guests have free access to wifi network from the bedrooms.
This room has dual aspect windows and from one window you can see Launceston Castle. The romance of Victorian times is brought alive in Lethbridge with its four poster bed, which is beautifully dressed, antique chairs, heavy drapes and feature fire place. The light and airy en suite which overlooks St Stephens and Launceston Castle, comprises a WC, basin, large mirror with inset crystal spheres that light up, shaver socket and walk in power shower.
Gwendoline also has dual aspect windows, and being south-east facing this creates a wonderfully light and sunny room. This room has a very calm ambience. The en suite in Gwendoline has a WC, basin, mirror with inset lights and shaver socket, and large walk in shower cubicle with power shower.

Breakfast Our meat is produced locally and bought at our famous local butchers Philip Warren & Son and Bray Farm Shop. The eggs are local, fresh and free range. The apple juice is produced locally with apples from small private orchards. I’m afraid the oranges are not local, but the orange juice is of excellent quality and conserves are mainly homemade. We make fresh bread on the premises every day.
