Views of Church Cove within a short distance of Morwenna

The Situation: Morwenna is situated on the approach road to the picturesque little village of Church Cove which is on the eastern side of Lizard Point and about a mile from Lizard village.
There is a choice of pubs/restaurants/small shops all within an easy walk.
The Lizard Point is one of the most beautiful unspoilt areas of Cornwall offering some fantastic exhilerating coastal walks with towering cliffs and little coves.
Church Cove itself has the remains of a now disused lifeboat house, originally built in 1883 plus some very old thatched cottages including a very unusual three storeyt thatch building.
Lizard Village is just a stroll up the road offering a choice of pubs/restaurants/tea rooms/small shops. Walk a little futher brings you to Lizard Point. A very popular place in high summer, from the magnificent cliffs you can enjoy seeing the Atlantic rollers crashing against the rocks or even dolphins playing in the bay. From here you can walk the coastal footpath taking in the Caerthillian Nature Reserve. There is a wide range of flora and fauna, because of the mild climate some of the plants are unique to the UK and only found in warmer countries.

a lovely beach at Kennack Sands within a short drive The beautiful Kynance Cove just a short drive or a lovely walk along the cliffs

The whole of the Lizard Peninsula is readily accessible, to mention just a few places:

Kynance Cove: You can even walk here directly along the cliff path from Morwenna.
A picturesque little cove approachable only across the cliff path - park in the National Trust car park and a pleasant walk across the cliff path. Not suitable for wheelchair access. There is a cafe virtually on the beach. A very popular destination for sunbathing/walking and swimming. There is no beach to speak of at high water but it becomes more and more sandy as the tide recedes.

Kennack Sands: Lovely sandy beach with cafe/toilets and car park virtually on the beach.

Cadgwith Cove: A lovely little fishing village.

Coverack: A popular little fishing village with a good beach/cafe/restaurant/pub.

Mullion & Mullion Harbour: A lovely little village which drops down to its scenic little harbour.

For those wishing to tour further afield, the nearest town is Helston which is just a short drive. The town is often described as the gateway to the Lizard Peninsula. From here the whole of Cornwall isd opened up with Penzance and St Ives to the west and Falmouth and Truro to the east.

Views around the Lizard Point

Directions to Morwenna:

Caution: There are two Church Coves on The Lizard, the first one you come to is just beyond Helston, it has a very nice beach, but ignore it.
