Kilbol Country House Hotel Restaurant

Picture of the Kilbol Country House Hotel RestaurantFood is very important to us and because we are relatively small we offer only the freshest of local produce cooked to order by Aga. Local fish and shellfish feature on the menu alongside other traditional dishes.

The Kilbol Country House Hotel Restaurant is open for guests and non-guests alike, with a Daily Menu featuring at least a meat or fish as well as a vegetarian main course. The menu will generally offer four starters, four main courses, four sweets and a cheese board. It is very important to stress that this menu changes every day (all courses). We make the most of the FRESHEST, LOCAL SEASONAL PRODUCE.

In addition to the daily menu we also have a "Green Menu" this menu is made up of "specialities" and fish and as such require 24hrs to source, prepare and cook and also generally has a supplementary charge to reflect the higher cost of the particular food. Examples would be LOBSTER, CRAB, SCALLOPS, OYSTERS, ANY OTHER FISH etc.

Picture of the view from the Kilbol Cottage BalconyFor most of the summer season, much of the fruit and vegetables used in the restaurant are grown in our own kitchen garden and are picked just minutes before being prepared and cooked.

To describe the type of food we serve here at the hotel... Good English style food but with some restaurant flair and occasional influences from travels around the world.

Vegetarian dishes are always available. Breakfast may consist of fresh free range eggs cooked to order, full English breakfast, kipper or devilled kidneys.

In the summertime hot or cold snacks may be served in the 16th Century bar, in the conservatory or under the shade on the lawn. Morning coffee and cream teas are also served both to residents and non-residents.

Parking - Kilbol has ample car parking alongside the Hotel in a car park which is illuminated at night.

The Hotel does not cater for children under 12 years of age, however dogs of any age are welcome.

Caerhays Estate
Caerhays Castle, parkland and woodland gardens, is owned by the Williams family and located in a sheltered valley overlooking Porthluney Cove on the South Cornish Coast. Caerhays garden is best enjoyed in the spring during March, April and May.

Trewithen Gardens and Nurseries
Trewithen is one of the most elegant eighteenth century houses in Cornwall, set in a glorious landscaped parkland of ancient trees, vistas and avenues. The house which is open to the public, is a fine example of the architecture of the period, but it is for its wonderful garden that Trewithen is rightly famed.
