Homeleigh is situated on the edge of the
lovely little rural village of St Ewe. It is just a few minutes
short walk to the village centre and the local pub. The pub is
excellent, very old with open log fires in the winter. Its
restaurant and bar meals are highly recommended.
The village itself is between Mevagissey and Gorran Haven in a
really lovely area.
The nearest shopping for essential supplies is either Pentewan/Gorran
or Mevagissey, all are quite close and similar distance but
Mevagissey has a much wider choice.

Things to:
The Lost Gardens of Heligan, one of the most popular in the
country is only a few minutes drive.
The Eden Project is 20/25 minutes drive (depending on traffic)
Lovely local beaches include:
Caerhayes - quiet little sandy cove, safe for bathing, car park
on the beach front
Gorran Haven - another little sandy cove, not so quiet this one,
gets busy in high season. Fishing from the harbour wall at high
water.
Vault - A very long open beach in the shelter of Dodman Point,
National Trust car park at the top. Not easy to get to and not
well know, hence it is always quiet. The beach is sandy but
quite coarse. Sometimes popular with nudists at the very end.
Mevagissey - A very popular little fishing village which gets
very busy in high season. Restaurants/takeaways/shops etc.
Fishing from the harbour wall or deep sea fishing trips. There
is a passenger ferry to Fowey taking in all the local
headland/beaches (well worth the trip)
Roseland Peninsula - Just a short drive with numerous
bays/headland/coves and of course St Mawes. Further boat trips
up the river and passenger ferry across to Falmouth (another
trip worth taking)
These are just a few local ideas, Cornwall is a small but
beautiful county, nowhere is far. |
