A delightful set of cottages in a most ideal holiday location. The 200 acre farm overlooks the Redmoor Nature Reserve and is set on the side of Helman Tor, from the top of which there are impressive views of rural Cornwall in all Directions. The farm is surrounded by nature reserves. A goat herd is bred on the farm and there is a flock of breeding ewes. On the Tor the owners are establishing a small herd of Exmoor Ponies of which there are only 200 breeding mares left in the world. There are still many more animals for the visitors to see - a Donkey, and a flock of sheep. There is a BBQ for guests use. The owners run the farm in the harmony of nature where you can enjoy a walk in the wilderness trail through the nature reserve. Yet you are within easy reach of both the north and south coasts and have easy access to all of Cornwall’s many tourist attractions. The owners have full information on these attractions, together with all types of outdoor leisure activities in the area. A few examples in the local area: The Eden Project; The Jamaica Inn made famous by Daphne du Maurier’s novel; the beautiful house and gardens of Lanhydrock; Bodmin Gaol with its dungeons, cells, stocks and pillory; Pencarrow House and Gardens are near. Bodmin Moor has several Bronze Age Stone Circles, menhirs and dolmens. The TWO cottages have been converted from a range of old granite farm buildings, dating back to the 1860’s. Many of the old beams and granite slabs have been maintained. The cottages are separated from the rest of the farm buildings by a low enclosed wall with plenty of Parking and lots of space for children to play. There is a lawn with garden furniture. Bed linen is included. Cots and high chair available if required. There is a laundry with good drying facilities and iron with ironing board. |
