Lelant:
Lelant is where the estuary joins St Ives Bay. This historic
village lies just
inland from the sandy shores of the Estuary and RSPB Sanctuary.
The village’s Norman Church stands above the mouth of the river
and adjoins the attractive West Cornwall Golf Club.
Lelant was the home of the famous novelist Rosamund Pilcher who
wrote Shell Seekers and Coming Home and also the artist John
Miller whose most famous paintings were inspired by the Hayle
estuary and bay.
The prestigious MOST BEAUTIFUL BAYS IN THE WORLD CLUB, has
selected St Ives Bay and Mount’s Bay (both in West Cornwall) for
membership of an exclusive list of the best tourism bays in the
world. They are the only beaches
in Britain to receive this accolade.
Ideal location for:
Relaxing on a peaceful unspoilt beach
Touring the beautiful South West peninsular
Walking the Cornish cliff path
Golfing at the West Cornwall Club
Also within easy walking:
A beautiful quiet beach
The RSPB sanctuary
Coastal train into St Ives
Bus into St Ives
Local pubs and restaurants
Local Facilities:
Once here you can leave your car in our ample parking area and
enjoy
a stress free holiday. Explore the area via the train or
frequent local bus (bus stop just 2 minutes walk away) both of
which take you into St Ives.
Lelant railway station on the St Ives branch line is a 5 minute
walk
and there is a park & ride facility at Lelant Saltings station.
Either option offers visitors a car free journey to St Ives and
St Ives bay.
The approach to the town by train offers superb sea views.
Lelant is also situated on the SW Coastal Path OS Ref 543 369.
We have 3 Pub/Restaurants all within a short walking distance
and

panoramas. Every round of golf is enhanced by the spectacular
views.
