HISTORY
Great Pelean Farm is a grade 11 listed farm house situated very
close to the breath taking south coast of Cornwall. The house
itself is believed to date back to the early 13th century, and
the front door has even more history, believed to date from the
12th century, having been removed from Tywardreath Abbey when
the monks were recalled to France. Set in around four and a half
acres the house is on the edge of a working livestock and arable
farm.
Since Andy and Jane Jones moved here in 1998 a lot of
restoration work has taken place to both the house and garden.
Much of this was necessary to give the building back its sense
of pride and also to make it water tight again!

ACCOMMODATION
Awarded four diamonds grading by English Tourism Council on
their quality assurance inspection. We have three rooms all of
which have en-suite facilities.
DOUBLE ROOM
The first floor offers a double room with en-suite shower room,
towels, face cloths, bath robes, radio alarm clock, hair dryer,
tea, coffee, drinking chocolate and biscuits. Along with a
colour television and a king size four poster bed. Both the
bedroom and en-suite have central heating which is
thermostatically controlled from in the rooms.
The views from this room are over the gardens towards the valley
and farm.
TWIN ROOM
The second first floor room provides an en-suite shower room,
colour television, towels, face cloths, bath robes, hair dryer,
radio alarm clock and facilities for making drinks but this room
has twin beds. We have found this room is very much appreciated
by travelling companions who are just away together rather than
being couples.
The views from this room will show the animals in the paddock
behind the house and across the valley.
GROUND FLOOR ROOM (suitable for wheel chair users)
We also have a ground floor suite which, we hope, will be of
benefit to anyone who finds stairs a problem. This may offer a
combination of accommodation to suit people travelling with a
helper who would want their own bedroom which is adjacent to the
main double room. It is sometimes used as an alternative twin
room or a family room. So there is versatility.
The smaller single room has the en-suite bathroom leading off
it; whilst the main room has a king size four poster bed. These
rooms also have the facilities as outlined for the first floor
rooms.

WHILST STAYING WITH US
Whilst staying with us we want you to feel at home and so we
offer you the use of a combined lounge and dining room where you
can sit (by the wood burner if its cold), watch television, read
or listen to the radio rather than being confined to your room.
The Garden is also available for those who want to sit and
listen to the birds or just to the sound of silence. For the
more energetic you may use the trampoline so long as you accept
total responsibility for any accidents or incidents. Why not
enjoy a complimentary cream tea outdoors if weather permits?
BREAKFAST
We think that your breakfast is a very important part of your
stay so we pride ourselves on the superb start to the day that
we offer. You choose what time you'd like to eat (up until
9.30am) and then you select as much or as little as you like
from a fairly extensive menu. How about picking some different
flavoured sausages from the selection of approximately 40
different varieties? Add some of our own free range eggs and
some local bacon and what about some homemade bread and
marmalade or lemon curd. We are told that the breakfast keeps
some of our guests going all day.
TARIFF
The tariff for Bed & Breakfast is 30.00 - 45.00 per person per
night. (based on two people sharing a double or twin room.) To
include one complimentary cream tea during your stay. Prices
will vary depending on time of year and will be confirmed at
time of booking. Rooms are available from 2pm (although luggage
may be dropped off earlier if necessary) and we ask that you
vacate your room by 10am on day of departure please. A 20%
non-refundable deposit is required on confirmation of booking.
At present we do not accept payment by means of credit cards.

LOCATION (CLICK
HERE FOR MAP)
If you want a peaceful location then look no further! Whilst
being set in a rural location we are only around half a mile
from the main A390. If you are intending to visit the Eden
Project (we are only 3.5 miles away near enough, for the fit, to
walk or cycle and get a reduced admission fee when you arrive)
stay with us and enter Eden by a second entrance which should be
a lot quicker. Also conveniently located for The Lost Gardens of
Heligan, Mevagissey, Fowey, Polperro, Padstow and Lanhydrock and
a selection of beaches.
ANIMALS
While we are no longer a working farm, we are a working small
holding that keeps cattle, sheep, guinea fowl and free range
hens all year round and at certain times will have turkeys and
chickens as well. While we are not fully organic we do try to be
welfare friendly and farm in a sustainable way, think about
tomorrow and not just today.
