| The
Situation |
|
Truly
one of the most enviable locations in the county of Cornwall. The
Godolphin Arms has magnificent views across Mounts Bay and beyond,
with direct access to a golden sand beach and the causeway and
ferry to St. Michael's Mount.
The view across the bay is always breathtaking, whatever the time
of year. Seals and dolphins regularly play with the small ferry
boats, which run from the mainland to St. Michael's Mount. You can
also watch the fishing boats returning to the port of Newlyn with
their catch, ready for the market. Some of which will return to
the Godolphin Arms to be used in one of our many fish dishes on
the menu.
The Godolphin Arms is a small 'family' run Hotel, Pub and
Restaurant, which has been, afforded a 2-Star rating by the AA.
Its Chefs are award winning and have reached the finals of the
'Cater 2000' competition.
Whether you would like to relax with a meal and bottle of fine
wine, or sit and chat with a drink in the Gig Bar, you will find
the surroundings and company compliments your holiday. The
friendly staff are always there to ensure your stay is memorable.

| The Accommodation |
|
The
Godolphin Arms is situated on the edge of the sand facing St.
Michaels Mount at Marazion. On a summer evening, depending on the
tide, the sea laps gently at the edge of the terraced beer garden.
In the winter the waves crash into the bar and restaurant windows.
The Godolphin Arms has recently been refurbished and now has 10
en-suite rooms, most with sea views (2 of which have disabled
access), a large restaurant which can cater for up to 75 people, a
family room with a 'pirate ship' ball pool and 2 bars. Some of the
rooms have a balcony, and there are 2 family rooms, which can
sleep at least 4 people.
The Hotel offer guests a warm and friendly atmosphere and prides
itself on attentive service.
With a wide selection of bedrooms, the hotel has tried to create a
unique atmosphere, each room is individually decorated to a high
standard (with no two having the same colour scheme), each room is
en-suite with tea making facilities and a colour television.
Kids Stuff
- Family friendly
Since it's refurbishment, The Godolphin Arms has become even more
family friendly, we have 2 family rooms, which can sleep at least
4 people. A safe golden beach at our doorstep with a view from our
terraced beer garden means that in the summer the children can
play while the parents keep a relaxed eye on them.
Indoors the parents can eat and drink while the children burn off
any excess energy in our 'Pirate Ship' ball pool in safety. |

World famous
St.Michaels Mount situated just behind the Hotel
Welcome to the West Cornwall
West Cornwall is a
veritable treasure trove of places to see and things to do, right
on the door step of The Godolphin Arms is St. Michael's Mount.
When the Normans conquered England in 1066, they were struck by
the similarity between St. Michael's Mount off the Cornish coast
and their own Mont. St. Michel. Monks from Normandy established an
Abbey here which later became a coastal fortress and is now a fine
country house, surrounded by fine terraced gardens. It is
accessible by a cobbled causeway from Marazion at low tide, and by
boat at high tide, and is a 'must see' while you relax with us.
The Godolphin is within 3 miles off the ferry and heliport for the
Isles of Scilly, those magic Isles which lie 28 miles south west
of Lands End, the last stepping stones before the great leap to
America .

Back on the
mainland, there are a great many attractions within easy reach,
such as; Land's End, the Minack theatre, Tate Gallery - St. Ives,
the National Trust gardens Trengwainton, Trelissick and Glendurgan,
Goonhilly Earth Station, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and children
of all ages will love Flambards and Paradise Park. The beaches of
Mount's Bay are clean, safe and offer the best facilities in
Europe for water sports such as windsurfing. Close by is the South
West Coastal Path and the Marazion marshes and Hayle estuary are
excellent places to observe the visiting bird life.
The area provides many facilities for horse riding, sea angling,
sailing, scuba diving and game fishing. In addition, the Godolphin
Arms has it's own fly fishing lakes.
