Gillwood
Bed and Breakfast is a large modern house set in its own extensive grounds, in an elevated position overlooking the Glynn Valley and River Fowey.
It is situated just off the A38 halfway between Liskeard and Bodmin, an ideal Touring base for both the north and south coasts.
A beautiful modern house decorated and furnished to a high standard.
All bedrooms benefit from en-suite or private bathroom facilities. All are equipped with a television and refreshment tray.
A pleasant dining room where a hearty full English breakfast is served. Various options available on request.
Whilst enjoying your meal you can gaze at the woodland views and
large array of birds visiting the bird table outside the window.

Join the A38 either from the Bodmin or Liskeard direction. Gillwood is mid way between the two towns. At this point you will see the 'Halfway House' country inn. Go into their car park and at the end of the pub wall there is a lane off to the right running alongside the River Fowey. Follow the lane for a short distance, Gillwood is the 5th and last house. When you pass through two wooden gate posts you're there! (approx 150 yards from car park) .

An excellent Country Inn with good food just a short walk away. Just a short drive Trago Mills (5 mins) - a large out-of-town shopping complex, very popular with locals and visitors alike. Trago Mills (5mins) The towns of Bodmin and Liskeard (15mins). Excellent walks on Bodmin Moor, and also on the moor is the famous Jamaica Inn. Dobwalls Theme Park (10 mins). Carnglaze Caverns (10mins) The Eden Project, ( 25 mins). Lost Gardens of Heligan - (40 mins) Lanhydrock House - (20 mins) Newquay and north coast beaches - (40 mins) South coast - Fowey, Mevagissey, beaches, - (40 mins) Within an hour Most of Cornwall can be reached from Gillwood with an hours drive including the cities of Plymouth and Truro. Both are excellent shopping centres. Your hosts are local to the area and will be happy to advise on places of interest. |
