The
Situation
Superior comfort and a warm welcome awaits you at the Countryman
Hotel, set in two acres of landscaped gardens with a trout
stream, pond and paddock but just a five minute drive to the
quaint town of St Ives. Although dating from the 17th century,
today this small hotel has been renovated to meet the needs of
the modern visitor, all rooms have en suite shower and toilet,
television and tea making facilities. The atmosphere of the
hotel is friendly and inviting, the emphasis being on cheerful
service and good value for money. This is a totally no smoking
hotel. St Ives has always had a tradition for generous
hospitality. A former mayor, the legendary John Knill,
bequeathed £10 for an annual banquet. Prices may have altered a
little but high quality of the local cooking has not changed.
