St Michaels Mount The gardens at Codna Coath

The Situation
: Codna Coath Cottage is in the little hamlet of Sellan, in the parish of Sancreed and lies some three miles west of Penzance. Guests are assured of a very warm welcome and a comfortable stay.

The cottage, part of which was built circa 1898 and part in 1973, has been home to the Pengelly family since 1938. In the older part of the house many of the original features still remain and it is furnished to compliment that bygone age. It was originally a smallholding with a small herd of Jersey cattle and poultry. Violets which Cornwall was famous for were grown here commercially. In fact, a small bed still flourishes in the grounds. At present there is only a Shetland pony in residence in company with hens and ducks.
