Bed and breakfast with optional evening meal together with a very warm welcome awaits you at Chellowdene, Falmouth, Cornwall. We are located within 50 yards of the Blue Flag Gyllyngvase Beach offering superb facilities for bathing and surfing together with cafe, bar and restaurant facilities. Castle Beach and the Swanpool leisure complex and nature reserve are only a short walk away. We are also only a 10 minute walk from Falmouth town centre.

Open all year round, Chellowdene Bed and Breakfast, Falmouth, Cornwall is a lovely property in a superb location with sea views from all rooms. In addition, some rooms also have balconies overlooking the scenic Falmouth Bay. We also have private off road parking directly in front of the property. In addition to being just a short walk from several of Falmouth's superb beaches, Chellowdene is also close to a range of excellent transport links including buses, taxis and the local railway stations.

Falmouth is one of the foremost holiday destinations in the UK offering everything from superb, clean beaches to sailing, cliff walking and a bustling town centre with a wide range of shops and restaurants. There are boat trips available taking you out into the lovely Falmouth bay or up the beautiful Fal Estuary to the county town of Truro. You can also take the passenger ferry over to St Mawes on the lovely Roseland Peninsula.

Falmouth has a long maritime tradition dating back to the days of the tea clippers and there are regular marine events staged throughout the season ranging from gig and yacht racing to races between the local gaff rigged working boats. Numerous epic voyages have started and finished in Falmouth. Ellen McArthur landed at the end of her record breaking round the world trip in Falmouth.

As a result of this long tradition, Falmouth has a branch of the National Maritime Museum located by the harbour. This is a truly excellent facility with a wide range of exhibits together with cafe, shop and observation tower overlooking the town and harbour.

We are open all year round and all rooms are centrally heated. We also have off street parking available directly in front of the property. Chellowdene is strictly non smoking throughout. We welcome families with children over ten, however, we regret that we are not able to accommodate pets.

The home cooked food is superb with a hearty full English breakfast to start the day. We also provide a lovely, four course evening meal with three choices per course. The perfect end to a days holiday. All food is sourced from top quality produce and is freshly cooked in our well equipped kitchen. Below are some sample menus.

Chellowdene, Falmouth, Cornwall is a friendly, family run business providing bed and breakfast with optional evening meals and is only 50 yards from Falmouth Sea Front and the lovely Gyllyngvase Beach. The property has just been extensively refurbished and re-decorated ready for the new season. The dining room and lounge is all new and many of the bedrooms and bathrooms have been completely re-fitted and re-decorated.

This is a lovely, spacious old house in a wonderful location which has been tastefully and extensively refurbished to a very high standard. The home cooked food is superb with a hearty full English breakfast to start the day. We also provide a lovely, four course evening meal with three choices per course. The perfect end to a days holiday. We are open all year round and all rooms are centrally heated. We also have off street parking available directly in front of the property.

All of our rooms have sea views and two have private balconies with extensive views of the beach and the lovely, scenic Falmouth Bay. Four of our rooms are ensuite and the other two have private bathrooms, thus all rooms have their own, private facilities. All rooms have TV plus tea and coffee making facilities. Chellowdene is strictly non smoking throughout. We welcome families with children over ten, however, we regret that we are not able to accommodate pets.

The small, picturesque town of St Ives has attracted painters for over a century including JMW Turner among many others. Many artists are associated with St Ives and West Cornwall, with its rich history and its vivid artistic life. Thus it is very appropriate that we have a branch of the world reknowned Tate Gallery located here.

The Flambards Theme Park Experience is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Cornwall. Not only does the Theme Park host the best thrill rides in Cornwall, but also the Flambards Victorian Village and Britain in the Blitz indoor tourist attractions. Flambards is also very proud of its beautiful garden setting and has won many awards over the years for trees, shrubs and flowers.

Pendennis Castle Falmouth www.english-heritage.org.uk/pendennis
Constructed between 1540 and 1545, Pendennis Castle and its sister St Mawes Castle form the Cornish end of the chain of coastal castles built by Henry VIII to counter a threat from France and Spain. Thereafter Pendennis was frequently adapted to face new enemies over 400 years, right through until World War II. There are a wide range of attractions at the castle including an interactive exhibition and cafe. The views are also absolutely stunning.

The National Seal Sanctuary is set in the picturesque Helford Estuary, by the beautiful village of Gweek, in Cornwall. The Sanctuary is a busy rescue centre, and also has resident Grey Seals, Common Seals, Californian and Patagonian Sea Lions, Goats, Ponies and Otters. Visitors can choose to adopt a seal and sponsor it on its road to eventual recovery and release back to the wild.
