Botallack Manor has seen the tin mining industry rise, flourish and decline, although the local mine at Geevor still operates its excellent mining museum and is well worth a visit, as is the restored original Levant engine 1 mile away.
The Manor has witnessed the angry pelting of John Wesley by the villager of Botallack when he tried to preach from the garden wall and throughout the years has remained an active farm.

The lane past Botallack Manor leads straight to the sea, cliffs and moorlands and the famous Crowns Engine Houses by the sea which makes this part of the coastline so attractive. In 1865 the mine was visited by the Prince and Princess of Wales (Later King Edward Vll and Queen Aleaxandra).
