The Environs

St Just-in-Penwith is a handsome town of great Cornish character, much of which is designated a conservation area.   Flights to Isles of Scilly are available from St Just airport a couple of miles away.

Cape Cornwall – the only cape in England – dominates the nearby coastline, it great hump-backed headland jutting out defiantly into the Atlantic.   The views from the summit are outstanding.   Small boats still work from Priest’s Cove on its south side.   A spectacularly situated golf course is adjacent.

The coastal path is easily accessible and just a mile or so away is the beautiful Cot Valley.   This part of the coast with its rich wildlife, industrial archaeology and fascinating geology is in the care of the National Trust.

Inland it is a ‘living museum’ of ancient Celtic sites – stone circles, standing stones, fogous, great chamber tombs – all accessible through a network of footpaths and country roads.  Bring your walking shoes and/or bicycles.

Boswedden has a non smoking policy

Relaxation therapies available.

Secure bicycle storage facility.

Directions

From the Market Square in the centre of St Just, take the Cape Cornwall road (1st left after the C0-op if heading north).   We are a mile down this road on the right by the sharp left bend and about half a mile from the sea.

To avoid the stress and tedium of driving, come by train or coach to Penzance.   If we can, we will be happy to pick you up from the station (preferably by prior arrangement).   Otherwise just take the No. 10 bus to St Just.   If you do not have too much to carry, by all means enjoy the 15 minute walk from the bus stop, or again we will do our best to pick you up.
