The Situation

Situated in beautiful countryside, the panoramic views from Higher Bamham across the Tamar valley to Dartmoor are superb. Our seven cottages were converted from the 18th century farmhouse and outbuildings and can accommodate between 4 and 8 people each or up to 41 for larger groups, celebrations and special occasions. The heated indoor swimming pool with dedicated paddling area (open all year) and games room (new for 2009) provide the perfect base for a family holiday. The farm is only one mile from Launceston town centre, historic capital of Cornwall with all local conveniences and providing easy access to North Coast beaches and coastal villages, South Coast beaches and fishing ports, Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor National Park and the Eden Project. Most of the nearest North Coast and South Coast beaches are dog friendly details of which are provided on arrival. Flexible Short Breaks are available year round except during school holidays. We welcome dogs in five of the cottages. The cottages are all well equipped and have VisitBritain 3 to 4-star rating. A weekend in Cornwall has never been easier, we’re only one mile from the A30 and 35 minutes from the M5.

The cottages are completely self contained, carpeted and tiled throughout and are fully equipped with everything necessary for an enjoyable self catering holiday. All cottages have in addition to the above * A bedside clock radio * A CD Radio & DVD Player * A hairdryer *A Tourist Information folder describing local places of interest, restaurants, pubs etc. * A Folder detailing walks in the area and National Trust Coastal Walks.

	Our indoor pool is 36' x 15' and kept at 82 degrees with the pool building at 84 degrees. There is a 9' x 6' paddling pool adjoining the swimming pool and plenty of seats for those who just want to view. In the pool building we have a sauna and a sunbed.

	Our well equipped games room has 2 pool tables, table tennis table, table football for the older children and adults and plenty of ride on toys and other playthings for the smaller children
	The cottages are set in extensive gardens set to lawns and flower beds. We have an area set aside for a football pitch and a sand pit and swing. There is also a boules area and we can supply the boules.
	All our 8 cottages are on our farm and share the facilities on site.

Local attractions

The Cottages are situated about ¾ mile from the small market town of Launceston which is full of history with its Norman Castle towering over the town centre and narrow winding streets with traces of its Medieval past. There is a small museum and a very interesting church. Bamham Farm is the perfect base to explore and enjoy all the West Country has to offer. In the immediate vicinity, of interest are the Launceston Steam Railway, The Tamar Otter Park, Trethorne Leisure Farm.

Less than 20 miles by quiet country roads, you are on the rugged north Cornish coast, with its beautiful hidden coves and finest beaches imaginable, from Bude to Padstow the entire coastline is as dramatic as it is beautiful. Among the most popular places to visit are Crackington Haven, Boscastle and Tintagel. This coastline is wonderfully under populated and is ideal for walking, surfing or just lying on the beach.

The South coast, about 25 miles away, has many thriving fishing villages such as Polperro and Mevigissey and lots of tourist attractions including the Monkey Sanctuary at Looe and the Dobwalls Theme Park. Visit the now world famous Jamaica Inn and enjoy the unspoilt Bodmin moor with its reservoirs and majestic scenery. The rugged hills and valleys of Dartmoor are just a short drive away, with interesting towns and villages such as Tavistock, Brentor & Lydford, among the places to visit are Lydford Gorge, Morwelham Quay, Roadford Reservoir and Dingles Steam Village.

The world famous Eden project at St Austell (about 45 minutes drive) is our newest major tourist attraction. The worlds largest green houses built in a disused clay pit with plants from every type of climate.

For those who enjoy sports, Launceston has a leisure centre with squash courts, gymnasium and outdoor tennis courts, we also have 2 golf courses within 3 miles. Horse riding is just half a mile away and anglers can choose sea, reservoir and coarse fishing within a radius of 25 miles. Roadford lake only 6 miles away has canoe, dinghy and windsurfing facilities as well as fishing.
