Kynance
Cove |
The Lizard Lighthouse, with its commanding position above the cliffs, is particularly interesting to visit. There has been a light to guide mariners since 1619, and it continues to burn today, still safeguarding seafarers around this treacherous headland.
The village is the home of the serpentine industry. You can watch local craftsmen turning the stone, which is unique to The Lizard, and perhaps buy a souvenir to remind you of your visit.
The church of St Winwalloe, at Church Cove dates from AD 600, beautiful and peaceful, it is well worth taking time to spend a few moments there.
