The Situation

Allhays is a spacious family house built in the late 1930s. It is set in its own extensive and peaceful gardens which provide breathtaking views over the wild and romantic remoteness of Talland Bay. Just a few minutes drive - or a rather longer walk - from the bustling tourist and fishing centres of Polperro and Looe, Talland offers the discerning visitor a glimpse of Cornwall that is both timeless in its beauty and yet which remains, even in the height of the summer months, quite tranquil. We hope you will take the time to look around our web site..
Following the recent assessment under the English Tourism Council (ETC) Quality Assurance Standard, our establishment has been awarded a rating of Four Diamond Guest Accommodation, Silver Award.

The Accommodation

Each of our three bedrooms is centrally heated, freshly decorated, and has been thoughtfully furnished and appointed to a particularly high standard. Whichever one you choose, you will be sure to find the following:

    • Remote control colour TV

    • Radio, alarm and CD player

    • Hair dryer

    • Bath robes

    • Complimentary tea and coffee tray

    • Complimentary mineral water

    • Room folder with information on what to do, what to see and where to eat

Bedrooms :

'H eather' A double bedded room which has a particularly well appointed bathroom, together with a separate shower cubicle. Heather does not have a sea view, but looks out over the gardens and orchard.

'Rosemary' A charming twin or king size double bedded room with unimpeded sea views over the western headland of Talland Bay. Rosemary is en-suite with a small but very modern shower room which consists of a wash basin, corner shower cubicle and toilet.

'Jasmine' A bright and airy twin bedded or king size double bedded room which enjoys similarly spectacular views over Talland Bay. Jasmine's bathroom is fitted with a modern combined bath and full height shower.

'Hebe Cottage' New for - Hebe consists of a queen-size double-bedded room with a French window which opens out on to an enclosed courtyard area. The bedroom is en- suite with a well equipped shower room and a private sitting room which converts to create additional sleeping accommodation, ideal for children or young adults. Hebe is stylish and contemporary, and is situated in the grounds of Allhays just a few steps from the front door.

As a rule, breakfast - either English or Continental - is served in the conservatory, but weather permitting we will be happy to set you a table out on the terrace. Our breakfast menu may change over time to take advantage of what is in season, but will always incorporate the best of Locally sourced fresh produce, much of it organic.

Directions

Upon arriving in Looe, follow the road bridge over the river in the direction of Polperro. Ignore the first turning to Talland which is on the left after about 1 mile. After a further few hundred yards turn left at a crossroads indicating Talland. Continue down a narrow lane. After about half a mile the cream coloured gateway to Allhays will appear directly in front of you on a sharp bend in the lane.

WISHING YOU A SAFE JOURNEY

Lazy Autumn days...

Allhays is not really a hotel but rather a comfortable family home which we invite you to share with us during your visit to this particularly beautiful part of Cornwall. During your stay our aim will be to provide you with a warm welcome, comfortable accommodation, and breakfasts guaranteed to set you up for the day. We will also happily provide you with afternoon tea or a picnic lunch, and although we do not serve dinner, we can - given a little notice - prepare a supper tray for you if you expect to arrive late in the evening. Otherwise there are many excellent hotels, restaurants and pubs at which to eat Locally and we shall be pleased to assist you in making the right choice. We would politely remind you that Allhays is entirely non-smoking, and also that we do not accept dogs. We have a small Burmese cat who would not appreciate the competition!
