An-Glow-Ji is a large modern bungalow, tastefully decorated and
furnished throughout, set in a lovely rural location in the
Pentewan Valley just a short distance up a private lane off the
main St Austell to Mevagissey road.
The guest house offers excellent value accommodation and is
conveniently situated just a few minutes drive from the
picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey and a similar distance
to the market town of St Austell.
The Accommodation:
Three en-suite bedrooms consisting of two double rooms and one
twin bedded room.
Each room has a television and tea/coffee making facilities
Spacious dining area with separate tables where a full English
breakfast is served. various options are available including
continental and vegetarian.
Guests have access to rooms at all times.
There is a no smoking policy in the house, but guests are quite
welcome to smoke and relax on the patio. A fridge is available
should guests wish to store any beers/wines/spirits/soft drinks
and just sit around in the garden during a quiet summer evening.
I am sorry, there are no facilities for pets.
A Cornish Cream Tea greets you
on arrival.
Breakfast produce purchased from the Heligan Garden Farm
Shop.

Locally:
Just a few yards from the Cornish Way Cycle Trail and footpath
leading one way to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Mevagissy and
the other to either Pentewan or St Austell.
A lovely sandy beach is just a mile away at Pentewan. The
village also has an excellent pub with good meals and a very
popular restaurant, The Old School House.
There are also excellent beaches nearby at Gorran Haven and
Vault, plus numerous little bays and coves
The Lost Gardens of Heligan is only a 5 minute drive away.
The popular fishing village of Mevagissey is only a short drive.
It offers speciality shops/restaurants/pubs/tea rooms/fishing
from the harbour, boat trips including a passenger ferry to
Fowey taking in all the local headlands and coves.
The Eden Project is approximately 5 miles away.
A good choice of restaurants/pubs are always available for that
pleasant evening meal or drink.

Caerhayes -
Close to Gorran Haven
A popular little cove nestling below Caerhayes Castle
A gentle shelving beach with good sand, usually calm for children but faces towards the Southwest and can be good for surfing.

Touring:
Most places in Cornwall can be reached within an hour's drive.
This includes north coast resorts of Newquay and Padstow
Falmouth with the National Maritime Museum
The whole of the Roseland Peninsula all the way to St Mawes
taking in the numerous little fishing villages and coves and of
course taking the famous King Harry Ferry going across the river
towards Falmouth.
The picturesque river estuary town of Fowey - nice novelty
shops/walks by the river/restaurants/boat trips up the river.
The cathedral city of Truro, excellent shopping, a splendid
cathedral and the boat trip down the river to Falmouth is well
recommended.

local to the area and will be only too pleased to recommend that
good restaurant or pub or somewhere nice to visit.
