A popular sandy little beach on the outskirts
of St Austell.
The beach is quite sheltered with a gentle slope
making it suitable and safe for children.
On the eastern side there are quite high cliffs, on
the west side there are rocks with some nice pools,
a favourite with children catching crabs and
shrimps.
Toilets close to the beach.
Small shop on the sea front.
Car park just a short walk.
No dogs between Easter and October 1st.
Like many south coast beaches, there is no lifeguard
service.
Directions:
From the A390 travelling west, just after the Mount
Charles roundabout and just before the Asda
Supermarket turn left into Porthpean road. Follow
the road taking the 2nd on the left, this leads
directly to the beach with the car park on the
right.
Summary:
A pleasant sandy beach suitable for children and
families. Can get busy at weekends in high summer.
