Cornwall Beach Guide Porthleven Beach
For accommodation in Cornwall click here

This sand and shingle beach is almost 3 miles long at low tide and stretches all the way from Porthleven Harbour to Gunwalloe.
The beach shelves quite steeply which is quite unusual for south coast beaches. It is normally safe to swim by the sea wall, but occasionally there is a heavy shore break, this can be dangerous but makes it very popular with the experienced surfers and body boarders.

Toilets: Yes, by the pier.
Parking: In Porthleven which is only a short walk from the beach.
Facilities: Shops/cafes/restaurants – all close-by in Porthleven.
Dogs: Banned from Easter to Oct. 1st.
Lifeguard: Unlike most south coast beaches there is a summer holiday service with a flag system.

Directions:
At Helston follow the A394 around the outskirts of the town picking up the B3304 on a roundabout to Porthleven.
