Just around the headland from Polkerris
beach, a pleasant cliff top walk joins the two.
Polridmouth is somewhat isolated and access is not
easy, hence it tends to be very quiet, a popular
destination for walkers.
At high tide there are two beaches which at low tide
are joined together. The sand quality is not good
but safe bathing is available. There are also
several rock pools and rocky outcrops to explore.
There are no facilities.
Dogs are permitted
Parking is at Mennabilly - a pleasant 15/20 minute
walk to the beach, this is not difficult but is
unsuitable for wheel chairs.
Directions:
Polridmouth is about 7 miles from St Austell. From
the A390 turn onto the B3269 for Fowey (this
junction is about 2 miles west of Lostwithiel).
Shortly before Fowey turn right at a roundabout onto
the A3082. Take the next left and continue on this
road to a car park at Menabilly.
Summary:
A pleasant little cove and a real sun-trap. A nice
place to sit and relax away from the crowds. Very
pleasant walks along the waters edge or along the
cliff tops.
