Polkerris is a small village just off the
Fowey road, a short distance from Par beach, at low
tide the two beaches virtually join.
Like Par, the sand quality is excellent, but unlike
Par, the beach is quite small and sheltered. It is
very popular with families and can get crowded at
weekends in high summer.
There is an excellent pub/restaurant fronting the
beach with seating that at high tide is only a few
metres from the waters edge.
To the left of the beach there is a stone quay which
offers additional shelter, this is also popular with
children who jump off the wall at high tide and also
with fishermen - main species being bass, flounder
and mackerel.
On approach to the beach there is a small car park,
it is just a 5 minute walk to the beach. This tends
to fill up very quickly during the summer weekends.
Facilities:
Toilets: Yes
Pub/Beach shop
Dogs: Banned from Easter to October 1st.
Directions:
