St. Ives Harbour
Excellent sand and gently shelving, a favourite with young children and families.
Directly overlooked by a long frontage with various pubs/restaurants/amusements/novelty shops and ice cream parlours.
The harbour wall is to the right of this picture and is a favourite with fishermen catching mackerel/flounders and bass.
To the left and just out of picture is the lifeboat house/slipway, this is of great interest when the lifeboat is being launched.
The main town centre with its winding narrow cobbled streets is only a stones throw away and is arguably part of the harbour frontage.

Porthminster Beach
A long stretch of golden sand close to the town centre.
The beach is sheltered by the headland and is usually calm. A favourite with families and the bucket and spade brigade.
Toilets/refreshments on the beach.
Like most of St Ives, parking is a problem, there is a large car park close-by but in high season this fills very quickly. |

Porthmeor Beach
Situated on the opposite side of St Ives to the other three beaches and wide open to the Atlantic rollers.
The sand is excellent and gently shelves.
Toilets/refreshments on the beach frontage.
Parking closeby
This beach is regarded as a premier surfing beach and the place to go in St Ives if you like surfing.
As can be seen from the view, there is plenty of room for everyone, even in high season.
