centre of the richest mining in Britain and as such has a
considerable history of tin and copper mining with many museums and
disused mine workings throughout the area. When the copper ran out
many miners from emigrated to countries all over the world, hence
the saying, ‘look in any hole in the world and you will find a
Cornishman’. Today the towns of Redruth and Camborne are bustling
communities popular with mining enthusiast and visitors from all
over the world seeking their heritage.
