ancient town situated at the tidal reach of the River Fowey.
It boasts beautiful rural scenery of the river and woodlands.
It is reported that John Betjeman once said ‘there is history in
every stone in Lostwithiel’.
This is clearly visible to the casual visitor who walks
around the narrow streets and lanes.
