A picturesque town and the premier resort for west Cornwall  featuring one the finest natural deep water harbours in the world.

• Undoubtedly its main attractions are its harbour and excellent beaches.

• It has become a centre for sailing enthusiasts with excellent safe moorings and marine facilities.

• The main beaches are Maenporth, Castle, Gyllyngvase and Swanpool, they are of excellent quality and offer safe bathing.

• The town centre includes a wide range of retail outlets including high street names, craft shops, restaurants, tea rooms and pubs.

• From the quay there is a wide choice of boat trips/ferries.  An excellent choice is a trip up the river to Truro, just enjoy the scenery, spend a few hours in the Cathedral city before a return journey.

• Fishing:  include deep sea, shark, trips around the bay for mackeral or shore fishing off one of the many quays or rocky outcrops.  Catches can be excellent.
